Sen. Rand Paul: ‘It is Far Past Time for Congress to Get Our Fiscal House in Order’

PAUL: "This is the largest rescission package or spending cut in American history. Because it was proposed by President Trump, through the special provision in the law it can pass the Senate with only a simple majority. In other words, it can't be filibustered by the other side. There are cuts to 38 proposed spending programs. Among the cuts are $4.3 billion for a vehicle technology loan program. Lord knows what that is. $800 million for an ObamaCare payment program. You can probably imagine that doesn't work. And $200 million earmarked for an Ebola outbreak in Africa that no longer exists. I'm hopeful we will take this small first step this week. It is far past time for Congress to get our fiscal house in order."
