Paul Ryan: Dems Would Rather Have an Issue with Immigration Rather than a Solution

‘The Democrats kind of walked away from the process once the supreme Court took away our deadline’

EXCERPT:

RYAN: "This is a difficult issue. What we’ve been trying to do is do through the regular committee process,Homeland Security Committee,  Judiciary Committee, to get 218 votes for a bill. We don’t have 218 votes for that bill. So now we’re trying to figure out where that sweet spot is. And the members who want to see action on this issue were getting exasperated because they didn't see an opportunity of getting something to the floor. We know are presenting people with an opportunity to get something on the floor. I would say, I think the Democrats kind of walked away from the process once the Supreme Court took away our deadline on March 5th on this issue. And that has left it to us to try and figure out how do we get this done. I worry that Democrats would rather have an issue than a solution. We’re going to work on a solution."
