Whoopi Goldberg on Lewinsky Scandal: Hillary Is the Real Victim, Not Monica
EXCERPT:
GOLDBERG: "But everybody's missing the point. You know who has gotten her behind, kicked behind all of this?"
HOSTIN: "Monica Lewinsky."
GOLDBERG: "No, Hillary Clinton."
BEHAR: "That's right."
HOSTIN: "And Hillary Clinton. That's right." (Applause)
GOLDBERG: "Wait, wait, wait. You know what? Whatever you think of Hillary Clinton, whatever you think of her, she has been dragged through the dirt."
HOST: "I agree with that."
GOLDBERG: "The man that is in office now -- [crosstalk] -- you don't know that. You weren't in that bedroom."
MCCAIN: "She was part -- no but I know what George Stephanopoulos said in his book about the --" [crosstalk]
GOLDBERG: "I -- again, I don't know -- I don't know what people say in their books. What I know is if they were complicit, that's their marriage and that's what they do. But this nobody -- (Applause) -- but this man dragged those women out and had them sitting there --"
MCCAIN: "Donald Trump did that."
GOLDBERG: "You know, during that -- during the debate."
MCCAIN: "Press conference."
GOLDBERG: "Press conference, you know. You know, this is the woman who goes through it every day; every day from both sides, left and right. Left side women say, 'Oh, no, I don't understand how she stayed with that man.' Women on the right, 'I don't know how she stayed with him.' That's the woman that I feel the worst for."
