Colbert: Did Cohen Pay Trump $130,000 To Stay Quiet on Pompeo’s Meeting with North Korea?
RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
COLBERT: "Speaking of unlikely duos, it was just revealed that over Easter weekend, C.I.A. Director and caucasian grimace, Mike Pompeo secretly met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Pompeo is not even Secretary of State yet! Apparently, now just anyone can have face-to-face talks with the leader of North Korea. In fact, tonight, one lucky audience member is going to win a trip to Pyongyang! Yes! Oh, ladies and gentlemen, check under your seats, folks, and then hide under your seat! You don’t want to go to Pyongyang! Laugh trump bragged about the Easter visit this morning, tweeting, “Mike Pompeo met with Kim Jong-un in North Korea last week. Meeting went very smoothly, and a good relationship was formed. Details of summit are being worked out now. Denuclearization will be a great thing for world, but also for North Korea.” Now, I, for one, hope it is a great thing for world and north Korea. But a couple of things here. Easter was two weeks ago. And, second, I can’t believe Trump kept something this big secret. How did he do it? I mean, the only explanation is that Michael Cohen paid him $130,000 to stay quiet about it. Check his bank account. Allegedly! Allegedly."
