Following reports of an active shooter at YouTube’s San Bruno, California headquarters, an employee described hearing “sounds of running and screaming” while at work Tuesday afternoon.
Speaking with CNN’s Jake Tapper, the unnamed female witness said her meeting with a colleague ended abruptly once they realized chaos was unfolding.
“I was actually on a video conference with someone who was in the building when it happened,” the unnamed witness said. “We were all suddenly aware of a lot of noises of people running outside of the room where she was and people screaming.
“And the person who was in the room on the video conference in the building became very alarmed and was listening to the sounds and suddenly became very scared and said, ‘I have to get out of here,’ at which point she abruptly left.”
