Krugman Wants Hillary in 2016, with Elizabeth Warren ‘Looking over Her Shoulder’

‘Part of one’s hope, if she becomes president, she will in fact feel some need to avoid alienating the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party’

As a New York Times columnist, Paul Krugman told HuffPost Live Wednesday that he doesn’t “do endorsements” — and “you don’t even know which party I prefer” — but that did not stop him from weighing in on the 2016 presidential race and the Democratic ticket he could get behind.

Asked if he believes Hillary Clinton has moved to far to the right since she ran to the left of President Barack Obama — on some issues — in 2008, Krugman said any foreign policy differences between the two have been “blown out of proportion.”

On domestic issues, Krugman said that the former secretary of state actually sounds now “substantially to the left of the old Hillary Clinton.” But “if she becomes president and then turns around and runs back to the right, that’s going to be a problem.”
