Kevin Corke to W.H.: Would Trump Support Fining People if They Fail to Answer Census Honestly?
‘I’m not aware of a mass campaign to start fining individuals’
CORKE: "On the census, I was going to ask, U.S. Code Title 13 § 221 effectively says that you can be fined if you don’t answer the census truthfully. No one’s been fined dating back to 1970. Would the White House support the idea of fining individuals that don’t answer the census or fail to answer it honestly?"
HUCKABEE SANDERS: "Look, the goal is to have data that we can use for specific things and we think that having accurate data is important. I’m not aware of a mass campaign to start fining individuals but we certainly want people to follow the law. We want them, whether it’s the census or anything else, people should follow the law and the law should be enforced."
