REID: "The same goes for John Kelly. This whole myth, this largely media-created myth that he was the grown-up in the room, that because he’s a general that automatically means he’s a man of a certain kind of honor and integrity. You know, everyone respects his military service. It’s admirable what he’s been able to achieve as a man of the military. But as just a guy, he agrees with Donald Trump. He has the same ethos as Donald Trump. He agrees with him on immigrants, on his take on them. This guy praised Robert E. Lee, he praised the confederacy. I don’t know why at this point we’re surprised that he stood by this guy. He’s been chief of staff since last July. If the F.B.I. informed the White House that this guy couldn’t even get a security clearance, the chief of staff would know that."
