HIRONO: "There’s a lot to be concerned about in what’s going on in the world, not just North Korea, but the president’s recent comments and I hate to use the word, but the shithole countries. The condemnation of those remarks should be swift. It’s not an unfortunate remark. It’s a remark that should be condemned very, very strongly. And basically the president is exhibiting a pattern of what I would call a racist pattern because he talked about white supremacists as being fine people and the birther situation, the Muslim ban, all these, he’s exhibited a pattern of what can be deemed racist thinking and attitudes."
