GOP Senator Shrugs Off Jimmy Kimmel’s Harsh Criticism of Him: ‘That Was a Funny Clip’ (Mediaite)
For the third night in a row during his show’s opening monologue, late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel took aim at the GOP’s latest attempt to repeal Obamacare. While slamming the bill and once again tearing into its author, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Kimmel also addressed some of his critics. One of those he hit was Cassidy’s Louisiana Senate colleague, Republican John Kennedy.
This morning, Kennedy popped up on CNN’s New Day and gave his reaction to Kimmel calling him “inbred” and “lady,” which was in response to Kennedy comparing Kimmel to Charlie Sheen while saying the comedian shouldn’t be taken seriously on health care. After host Chris Cuomo played the Kimmel clip, the GOP senator appeared to take it all in stride.
“Mr. Kimmel is a funny guy,” Kennedy said. “And that was a funny clip.”
