MASSI: "If you could afford it, and I think in most cases they are affordable, the answer is yes. But what we learned from all of this is most of us don’t really know what is covered in the insurance we have. And if — and some underwriters, by the way, if you live in coastal areas, they will exclude, like we talked the other day in Texas, they will exclude certain type of coverage. So it’s very important that if you buy hurricane/flood insurance, that you ask your agent to explain to you exactly what it covers like Steve is talking about the surge, versus the rain from the top down. These are things — that’s why insurance and the language in insurance policies are very complicated and no single answer is necessarily the right answer all the time."
