‘Well, as I understand ancient history, we started with heiroglyphics’

ROWE: "Let’s see. What — well, as I understand ancient history, we started with heiroglyphics. It appears that we may have gone full circle. I don't know how much righteous indignation we can whip up on emojis. But I am troubled by their quantity. There’s hundreds of these things. They have every possible expression. Every nuance of expression is in this endless pile of emotions. I didn’t know, 'A,' there was that many emotions in the human condition but now we have to choose which one to express ourselves and to whom and when. I’m not sure we simplified things at all."
