‘That’s Not My Question’: ABC’s Karl Repeatedly Asks Cruz If Trump’s a True Conservative (Mediaite)

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) had plenty of glowing remarks for Donald Trump during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Thursday, though it would seem that the Texas senator is still not entirely convinced that the president is a genuine conservative.

During his conversation yesterday with conservative radio host Mark Levin, Cruz praised the first month of Trump’s presidency while knocking liberals going “bat-crap crazy” over his former 2016 rival. ABC’s Jon Karl noted that this was a somewhat different tone compared to what Cruz had to say about Trump a year ago, and Karl caught up with the senator to ask whether Trump is a true conservative.

“I think he is the president…” Cruz began to say before Karl interjected to firmly remind him, “that’s not my question.”
