Himes: I Don’t Agree with Saying No to Everything and Shutting Down the Gov’t; ‘That Was the Tea Party’

HIMES: "You know, if we are going to gut Dodd/Frank, you know a piece of legislation that was put together to prevent in '06, a meltdown of our financial services sector from ever happening again. If that goes away and all of the sudden, we are seeing exploding mortgages and the irresponsible behavior on Wall Street and banking take note of that. It is really important that people do that. Now, The piece of that that I'm not in agreement with, that we should do what the Team Party did and just say no to everything, if we don’t get everything we want, we shut down the government that was the Tea Party. And look, we all have a responsibility to help govern this country and if we say no, we are not going to compromise it’s either our way or the highway nothing will ever move forward.”
