Turner: ‘Bad Decision’ by Trump to Speak with Taiwan’s Pres.; It Wasn’t an ‘Accident’
EXCERPT:
TURNER: "It was a mistake, by which I mean, I think it was a bad decision. I don’t think it was an accident. I give to the president-elect and his team a lot more credit than that, I believe that he knew exactly what he was doing, and this was part of a larger strategy to pushback against China. What I take issue with is not the phone call itself and the fact that he had communications with leader of Taiwan, I take issue with the fact that he ended up acknowledging the country’s national sovereignty by calling the leadership, their president and referring to them as a nation. That's very dangerous when it comes to our, the U.S. relationship with China, which is, as we all know, going to be very central to world order in the 21st century."
