Al Sharpton: ‘Where Does Rand Paul Get Off Talking About Civil Rights?’

‘That’s inexcusable’

Al Sharpton: ‘Where does Rand Paul get off talking about civil rights?’ (BizPac Review)

MSNBC host Al Sharpton, who brings race race up at every opportunity, wanted to know where U.S. Sen. Rand Paul got off talking about racial issues.

Sharpton noted during his Thursday show that Paul stated in a New York Times interview, “the first African American president ought to be a little more conscious of” government abuses in the past in which civil rights leaders had been spied upon.

“Where does Ron [sic] Paul get off talking about race and civil rights at all?” Sharpton wanted to know. He referred to a statement Paul had made early in his political career in which the senator wondered if the Civil Rights Act of 1964 may have been overly broad, resulting in an erosion of private property rights.
