‘I think Hillary Clinton, as the Democratic nominee, support for the abolition of assault weapons will be a political advantage in 2016’

SHIELDS: “What they did, Judy, was they got incredible attention to it. I mean, having John Lewis, a civil rights icon who had led sit-ins in civil rights, lead this brought the attention. I don’t think there is any question that there is a profound change in public attitudes in support of background checks. And I think Hillary Clinton, as the Democratic nominee, support for the abolition of assault weapons will be a political advantage in 2016.”
