AVLON: "I don’t know that Donald — that John McCain’s comments -- (Laughter) -- are going to have an impact on the bills. It was a dumb thing to say. And you know, obviously the president has -- any attempt to politicize a mass shooting is dumb, tactless and tasteless and John McCain has been one of the more descent Republicans in the Senate for a long time. But the tone and tenor of the times are leading people to escalate their rhetoric instinctively. It's the Donald Trump effect."
