LEMON: “Why would I want to go and be part of something that demonizes me, that says that I am an abomination, right? That's what the church believes. But I don’t believe that is what the scripture says, and that is not the God that I serve. So I'm not an active churchgoer right now, Joy, but I am certainly a Christian and I certainly do unto others as I would have them do unto me, which is really the golden rule. That's how I treat people. And I think of other people develop that sort of relationship with their faith and with their God, we would all be much better. So it's about digging in, treating people the way you want to be treated, and actually being accepting of people instead of pushing people away. I call Jesus in this book the biggest s-h-i-t stirrer of them all. That is the image that I choose to see in myself, that I am a big sh*t stirrer."
