Matthew Dowd: Unlike Biden, ‘Gutless’ Confederacy of Republicans Refuse to Put the Country First and Support Trump

‘They don’t understand there’s actually some people who believe in something more than personal power and personal ego’

EXCERPT:

DOWD: "Because she put country over her personal ego and personal power. That’s kind of why it is. The gutless, sort of confederacy of Republicans, which is a majority of the leadership, refuses to put the country first, like Joe Biden did in what he did a month and a half ago. That’s why they don’t understand it. That’s why they think it’s some big machination or something. They don’t understand there are actually some people who believe in something more than personal power and personal ego. And Liz Cheney — I’ve known Liz for 20 something years, I did debate prep with Liz for her father’s debate back in 2004. And I agree with you. I mean, Liz Cheney and the Cheneys at the time, in 2004, they thought they were the conservatives and Bush was less of a conservative than they were. That’s how they approach it. For her to endorse in this race is — not only just attacking Trump and saying how dangerous Trump is, but for her to say she’s going to vote for Vice President Harris is very significant."
