Phil Flynn on Biden Tapping Northeast Gas Reserves: When the Hurricane Season Hits, We Are Going To Be Unprepared
EXCERPT:
FLYNN: "The bottom line is, is that the amount of gasoline that they're going to release we're going to burn before you have breakfast tomorrow morning. OK. It's a very small amount. And for the big picture, to come out with this big press conference and say, 'Look what we're doing to lower gasoline prices,' it's really going to have a short term impact. And Neil is, you know, I've been watching the Fox Weather Channel, they are very concerned about this upcoming hurricane season. You have some of the major predictors of hurricanes predicting 20 or more storms. And you know, when we start playing with our strategic reserves and our strategic gasoline reserve, when we have a problem we're not going to be prepared, and that's going to lead to potentially major price spikes at a time when we could least afford it."
