Tarlov: ‘Long Covid’ Is Not a Winning Issue for Dems

‘Kids have lost 5-10 years of progress, not just in a classroom, but the social, emotional toll that this has taken on them’

EXCERPT:

TARLOV: “But where I think where there has been a lot of uniting, and it’s a very good thing, is about this issue, what happened to the kids? That kids were held out of school, and that was something that didn’t need to be closed down or it needed to be closed down for a few months and then we knew that this 6 feet apart thing didn’t make a difference for young people. And that’s where you really see this unity amongst Democrats and Republicans. And we were talking about it last night, my husband feels really passionately about it, that Democrats can’t run towards the Covid policies because this is such a central piece of this, and you have kids who have lost 5-10 years of progress, not just in a classroom, but the social, emotional toll that this has taken on them, that they didn’t have activities, they couldn’t hang out with their friends. I don’t think it’s a winning issue for Democrats.”
