But it doesn’t make sense in terms of how they support this expansive apparatus in the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, this new agency CISA, policing social media. If they oppose a new authoritarian president, why are they handing him an apparatus to completely control social media? We’ve seen just in the last couple years the creeping bureaucratic power that these agencies have to shape social media. If there’s truly a concern with the authoritarianism, why aren’t they voicing any attempt to disentangle this government influence over social media?”
