Ted Cruz: Unlike Trump Case, Alvin Bragg Wouldn’t Prosecute Hillary Clinton For Calling Funds For Steele Dossier ‘Legal Fees’
EXCERPT:
CRUZ: “But let me just focus on one point. The basis of Alvin Bragg’s case is that Trump broke the law when he characterized a payment as legal fees when it was not, in fact, legal fees. You know who did the exact same thing at the exact same time? Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton in 2016, she paid over a million dollars to develop the Steele Dossier. The Steele Dossier, you remember that fantastical fictional piece that had all sorts of lurid accusations against Donald Trump? Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid over a middle bucks for it and she called that money legal fees. She did it at the same time in the 2016 presidential election. She did in it the same place, in New York State, likely in New York City. And yet Alvin Bragg in a million years wouldn’t prosecute Hillary Clinton under this law because he’s a partisan Democrat. This has nothing to do with the law. This has everything to do with politics. But the irony is, Sean, if Bragg goes through with this tomorrow, it’s going to backfire mightily, and I think the result, ironically, could be a left-wing Democrat George Soros D.A., if he brings this case and loses -- and he will lose -- he could end up, ironically, playing a pivotal role in re-electing Donald Trump as president."
