REPORTER: "Okay, so first I want to talk about this. Was President George Bush legitimately elected?"
McAULIFFE: "Well, we went through a very contentious 2000, if you remember, and I'll remind you it went all the way to the United States Supreme Court, and it took them through the second week of December to actually make a decision. And the Supreme Court, for the first time in the history of our country, stopped the counting of ballots in Florida and overturned the local Florida Supreme Court. So that was a different — "
REPORTER: "So yes or no?"
McAULIFFE: "Yeah, he got sworn in. Once you're sworn in, we gotta move on. But do not forget that was very important, that the Supreme Court of Florida stopped the counting of ballots. That wasn’t the case in 2020."
