Labor Sec.: ‘There Is No Correlation’ Between Extra Unemployment Benefits and Labor Shortages

‘We looked at the states where they either dropped or are threatening to drop the unemployment extended benefit ... and we have not seen a reduction people looking into work’

EXCERPT:

WALSH: "And I anticipated this question would come to me today, so we looked at the states where they've either dropped or are threatening to drop the unemployment extended benefit, and we are not seeing anybody there — we haven't seen a reduction in people looking into work. So we're seeing there's no correlation between the $300, dropping it, and people going back into the job market. We haven’t seen it in the last month."
