NBC: President Obama Stops Flow of Some ‘Military Style’ Gear to Local Law Enforcement

“President Obama is banning the federal government from providing some ‘military-style’ equipment, like tanks and grenade launchers, to local police departments. Now, this comes nine months after police in riot gear dispelled racially led protests in Ferguson, Missouri. According to the new guidelines, if local police departments want other less imposing military equipment, agencies will have to submit to federal restrictions.”
