‘You Know the Thing’: Biden Faceplants Trying to Quote Declaration of Independence

Over his long career in politics, Joe Biden’s left a colorful trail of gaffes along the way.

And since announcing his third run at the presidency, the pace of those Biden blunders appears to only be quickening.

Today in Texas, Biden made easily his biggest blooper of the 2020 campaign season, absolutely faceplanting while attempting to quote one of America’s founding documents.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident,” Biden began, apparently planning to quote the Declaraton of Independence.

“All men and women created ...” Biden stammereed, clearly forgetting what comes next. “By the — you know — you know the thing.”

In the same speech, Biden mistakenly told the crowd that tomorrow’s “Super Tuesday” primary elections are actually on “Thursday.”

On Sunday, Biden thanked the wrong host during an interview.

After his Saturday victory in South Carolina, Biden appeared on three Sunday shows: “Fox News Sunday,” ABC’s “This Week,” and NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Unfortunately for Biden, the hosts were apparently easily confused. 

Biden wrapped his interview with Fox’s Wallace anticipating debating President Trump, “I want people to see me standing next to him, and him standing next to me — we will see who is sleepy.”

"Mr. Vice President, thank you, thanks for your time, please come back in less than 13 years, sir," Wallace said, joking about Biden’s prolonged absence from the Sunday show circuit. 

"All right, Chuck, thank you very much," Biden said, confused.

"All right, it’s Chris, but anyway."

"Chris, I just did Chris,” Biden tried explaining. “No, I just did Chuck. I tell you what, man, these are back-to-back, anyway, I don’t know how you do it early in the morning."

And on Saturday, Biden claimed he was in “the state of North South Carolina.”
