KRAUSHAAR: “It’s interesting to watch the president’s rhetoric versus the reality. The president campaigned about getting us out of Iraq. But the reality of what is happening in Iraq where you have Iranian backed militias attacking Americans and our interests has given the hawkish wing of the Republican Party more momentum heading into the new year. The president has a bipolar foreign policy. His rhetoric doesn’t match what and going on, on the ground. The new year will have offer new challenges and there will be likely new attacks and Trump will have to decide how many more military troops will be positioned in the region to respond.”
