Fox News: Charges Dropped in Case Against Jussie Smollett

‘If true, the case against Jussie Smollett looks like it will be abandoned by the prosecution’

EXCERPT:

HEMMER: "Back to Chicago. Fox News alert. We're trying to piece together the information as to why Jussie Smollett is now in court for an emergency court appearance. That’s brand-new video run just a few seconds there at the courthouse there. In a moment, Smollett and his lawyers will speak to reporters afterwards at the courthouse. And now we’re getting word from our reporter Matt Finn who has been on the story from the beginning in Chicago that the prosecution will drop all charges against Smollett. Another bombshell on yet another day of news in America."
SMITH: "A couple of things. We didn’t know this court appearance was happening. That is obviously a live look inside the courthouse in Chicago where all this took place. We were simply notified a short time ago that he would be appearing with his lawyers in court and also that there would be a media availability held shortly thereafter. And now word from our producer — from our reporter on the ground there that the case has been dropped. So obviously we need more details. That’s all we know at this time."
