Gregory Meeks: I Could Not Support Bernie Sanders Because He’s Not a Democrat

‘What I’m urging him to do is join the party’

MEEKS: “I want to be clear. I could not support Bernie Sanders because he’s not a Democrat. And I think that the person who is the Democratic nominee should be a Democrat. And you know, I know I got a lot of noise before as if I was urging him to go, to move, to run as an independent. No. What I’m urging him to do is to join the party, that if he wants to run as a Democrat he should join the party."
