MCCARTHY: “Fabulous pick. I -- I couldn’t be more pleased with somebody who not only knows, Bill, for a number of years but cares deeply about the Justice Department. I don’t know how the president could have made a better pick. I think at a time when the department is reeling a bit because of the controversies we’ve had you really needed a pick like President Bush’s pick of judge Mukasey in 2000. To me this is the same kind of home run. It rights the ship.”
