Daniel Halper on Trump: ‘This Is His Last Best Chance to Get a Border Wall Done’
EXCERPT:
HALPER: "This has been in lock step with what he has been advocating since he started running for president. And I think there was this general misconception that his concern about the caravan had only something to do with the 2018 election and that after the election he would no longer care about it. But if you think about it from his perspective, from the President's, look, this is his last best chance to get a border wall done. Congress — he has a Republican Congress for basically another month and if he can get them to act now, he has a greater chance of doing that than trying to get a Democratic House and Republican Senate to get together and provide border wall funding next year or in the next Congress. I think that’s not lost on the President. I think taking drastic measures, showing how much that he cares about it right now to try to get something done is perhaps what he is trying to do here."
