GEIST: "Well, yesterday came and went, but the President put the kibosh on the plan announced by Nikki Haley. Several people familiar with the matter tell 'The Washington Post' shortly after the Ambassador's comments President Trump told his national security team he was upset and uncomfortable executing new sanctions on Russia. And an administration official tells 'The New York Times' Trump was annoyed that Ambassador Haley announced it first. A Russian foreign ministry official also says that the White House told Russia’s embassy that no new sanctions are imminent. Yesterday press secretary Sarah Sanders said that the administration is, quote, evaluating additional sanctions and a decision will be made in the near future. Sanders also said yesterday that President Trump still wants to sit down for a meeting with Vladimir Putin."
