Richard Fowler: Socialism Could Work Here in America

‘I do think there’s some policies that we could change in this country to make American lives better’

RUSH EXCERPT:
FOWLER: "To Dr. Alveda king’s comments, this goes beyond economics. If you look at — if you look at the civil rights movement as we commemorate it today, martin Luther king will tell you it’s more than economics. Based off the president’s quotes last week where he sort of disparaged a country and an entire continent that the people that live there look like me, that speaks to why people are so upset. Like for the four people boycotting, let’s take Frederica Wilson. A lot of her constituents are Haitian. It makes sense for her to do that. On the socialism question, I don’t know if socialism is part of the course, but I do think there’s some policies that we could change in this country to make American lives better. One is properly funding healthcare and education. There are socialist elements one could argue. But I think there’s some policies that you could see from socialism that would work here in America."
