Sen. Pat Leahy Laments Departure of Eric Holder, Recalls ‘Cheers’ when He Was Sworn in

‘I hate to see Eric Holder leave ... nobody’s done it better than he has’

"I hate to see Eric Holder leave. I remember the day he was sworn in and the huge cheers that echoed through the Department of Justice, throughout the building, because they were finally getting somebody who actually knew how the Justice Department worked, who cared about law enforcement, who cared about the rule of law, and they were getting that in Eric Holder. And he has done that and I think it is going to be hard to find someone. I know that it's something that -- [indecipherable] have already unfortunately used him to go out to the president, but I've been here throughout with a lot of attorneys general. Nobody's done it better than he has."
