Katy Tur: ‘Absurd’ for Trump To Try and Take Credit for the ‘No Aviation Fatalities’
RUSH EXCERPT:
TUR: "No, I really haven’t. I think Donald Trump is who he is. I mean, maybe he adjusted his position on Afghanistan once and said that once he got into the White House, it changed his opinion on things. But mostly, we’ve just seen the same Donald Trump that we saw in the campaign trail and the same Donald Trump that we’ve been seeing for years in the spotlight and in the tabloids here in New York City. And also on “The apprentice.” You know, the aviation tweet this morning was interesting. It’s almost as if he saw it on the news somewhere or read it in the paper and then decided that, you know, this was something that he should take responsibility for. It’s only one step removed, since it’s been happening since 2009, it seems like it’s only one stepped removed from Donald Trump trying to take credit for the sun rising every morning. The sun rose today. So I think that I’m doing a really great job. I mean, this is happening since 2009. I mean, it’s a bit absurd to go out there and say that I’ve been very strict with aviation when we can’t find a single aviation source telling us that the White House has done anything."
