Ruth Marcus: What Bannon Said Last Night Was the ‘Trifecta of Offensiveness’

‘I thought everything he said was wrong, reprehensible, and hypocritical’

MATTHEWS: "Ruth, tell us about this. What is your sense from up here. Because I’ve been hearing indirectly, a lot of us pick up news that people down there, whatever their educational level or whatever, they think this northern influence is not what they like. They are blaming people up here like us, saying that’s why I’m going to vote for Roy Moore because you are trying to interfere with our election."
MARCUS: "And McConnell said Steve Bannon picks people who lose and tbd because let’s soo what happens on Tuesday. I’m not sticking up for Steve Bannon. I thought everything he said was wrong, reprehensible and hypocritical. The trifecta of offensiveness. But nonetheless, he is — he is in the ascendency in that race —"
MATTHEWS: "Moore is."
MARCUS: "Moore is and Bannon is. He picked the right — the winning candidate in the primary there and he may be riding that horse to the Senate."
