Claire McCaskill: The Framework Trump and the GOP Have Laid Out Is Not a Tax Cut for Middle Class Families
RUSH EXCERPT:
McCASKILL: "Well, he at least acknowledged that, you know, it’s really hard for somebody like me to negotiate on this tax bill when we don’t know what it is. It’s hard for me to take seriously that they want Democrats to participate when they won’t show us the bill. What they have laid out is not a tax cut for middle class families. You know, 80% of the benefit that’s going to go to pass-through companies will go to millionaires and above. They don’t even tell us what the tax credit will be for children. Right now the framework would have a one child policy. A family of four in Missouri that makes $50,000 a year would pay $887 more under the framework they have laid out. So I want to work with them. If we can make this about the middle class and make this not trickle-down, but deliver it to the middle class and small businesses, then I think they could get a bipartisan vote on this and that would be so much better for the country."
