Douglas Brinkley Attacks CSPAN Caller over Global Warming: ‘99.9 Percent’ of Scientists Agree with Me

BRINKLEY: “Well, your call strikes me as someone who is very rude to call and talk to me like that, first off. Secondly, you are calling the truth as your truth, the truth as you see it. I have said nothing except Donald Trump has a base — he had 43 percent in the recent polls. You talk about 35 percent, that's his die-hard group that he has, a third of the country no matter what he does will stick with him. That 35 might be closer to 40, but it's in that range and everybody knows that. I don’t know what I said wrong with that. As far as talking about climate change, everybody is talking about climate change, 99.9 percent of scientists are telling us about climate change. We have to prepare for the droughts and mass dislocation. So, you know, people that want to be ostriches and put their head in the ground and then just get on the air and feel like they are big because they get to do a call-in, those are very little people. We need a time now to create a kind of better American energy than that. I don’t think anybody should be a climate denier and think climate change is a hoax right now. That would be someone very uninformed.”
