BASH: "But the President’s message came from a tweet which is not very— it’s very difficult to say everything you want to say in a tweet. That’s the main reason — well, one of the many reasons, I should say, why his aides would really prefer him not to tweet as much, particularly on issues like this, never mind the political consequences but the legal consequences. Clearly, he sent his legal adviser out to try to beat back the notion that he’s under investigation, and the fact that it contradicted the tweet that he was sending, which probably did come in response to 'The Washington Post' article that said he was under investigation and he was trying to play off of that. But it wasn’t clear in the tweet. And when you’re president of the United States, you have to be clear, period.”
