Trump Tells Australia’s PM ‘You Have Better Health Care than We Do’

Trump Tells Australia’s Prime Minister ‘You Have Better Health Care than We Do’ (Mediaite)

In the middle of his victory lap after the House passed their health care bill on Thursday, President Donald Trump heaped some unlikely praise upon a health care system from another country.

Appearing jointly with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbell, Trump lauded that nation’s health care system.

“I shouldn’t say this to the great gentleman, my friend from Australia, because they have better health care than we do,” Trump said. “We are going to have great health care, very soon.”

The wrinkle, of course, is that Australia has publicly funded universal health care.
