Physician leader and executive with deep background in health care operations, policy, sustainability and associated research. Leader as former clinical chair, Vice Dean, system CMO\EVP, practice plan President, and CEO in academic, public, and major private systems and as a Senior Adviser to the federal government. Emphasis has been on building, restructuring, and advising to meet changing missions, challenges, and opportunities as health care evolves into sustainable and innovative networks to enhance safety, access, and resilience in a manner that recognizes the need to support education, discovery and innovation. In addition to listed positions in the United States, has consulted on public and private projects in Europe, the Middle East, and China.
Former Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for health care operations and policy. Initial focus was to mitigate pandemic associated disruptions and then expanded to support the National Security Council mandated initiative to assess risk and mitigations in health care and other sectors of the economy. This initiative entailed extensive engagement with other federal agencies, public and private sector colleagues to identify risks and opportunities for supply chain, cyber security, finance, manpower and other factors in a holistic manner.
