Biography
Decker spent the past 25 years based in Washington, D.C. and China. His previous positions include serving as senior vice president of the Export-Import Bank and Pentagon Federal Credit Union, communications advisor and speechwriter for congressional leadership, director of the White House Writers Group, editorial page editor of the Washington Times, and editor and writer for The Wall Street Journal. A New York Times bestselling author of numerous books, Decker was governor of the Hong Kong Foreign Correspondents’ Club.
An adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University and media fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, Decker is a graduate of Albion College, holds master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins and the U.S. Naval War College, and earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio, and grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, Mich., and London, England.
