Biography
Jay Korff is a general assignment reporter with ABC7/WJLA-TV & News Channel 8.
He came here in 2003, after working at WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee. Before that, he reported for stations in Fort Wayne, Indiana; LaCrosse, Wisconsin; and Helena, Montana.
Jay has received 18 Regional Emmy awards, 10 Regional Edward R. Murrow awards, a National Murrow and a National Headliner Award for the top feature story in the country. He’s also been honored by the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association for his investigative work relating to dysfunction, waste and mismanagement within D.C. government.
Jay is a native of the Philadelphia area. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Telecommunications, while minoring in Political Science.
Jay enjoys a variety of athletic pursuits in his free time. In 2011 he qualified for the World’s Toughest Mudder obstacle course race. And in 2012 he qualified for the US National Mountain Bike Championships.
