Rick Garcia has been awarded with numerous Emmys, Golden Mikes, AP’s as well as the prestigious Edward R. Murrow award. Throughout Garcia’s professional broadcasting career he’s been recognized for his professional contributions to the Los Angeles TV news industry. For example, in 2008 he was awarded with the the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Excellence in Broadcast Journalism and is a recipient of the Striving for Excellence Award from the Minorities in Broadcasting Training Program. Philanthropically, in Los Angeles, Rick Garcia provided the Unity Award scholarship at his alma mater, Quartz Hill High School.In addition, Garcia worked with various Los Angeles community causes. Including but not limited to the Facing Forward Foundation, the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, the Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley, and the Boys and Girls Clubs based in Los Angeles.
