Brian Todd is a correspondent for CNN, providing reports for "The Situation Room." Based in Washington, D.C., Todd has contributed to the network's comprehensive "America Votes 2008" coverage.<br> <br> Todd has also reported numerous breaking news stories including the Lewis "Scooter" Libby trial, Hurricane Katrina, the Dubai ports controversy and the Sago Mine disaster. He has also delivered in-depth reports on terrorism, politics and national security and several series, including one in 2005 about the methamphetamine epidemic in the Midwest.<br> <br> A CNN veteran of more than two decades, Todd joined the network in 1987 as a copywriter for morning programming and soon also took on production responsibilities in the field and for long-form reports. From 1989 through 1993, Todd served as an anchor and reporter for "CNN Newsroom," a news program for high school and middle school students.<br> <br> Todd became a news producer based in Washington, D.C., in 1993 and then an editorial producer for "Larry King Live" in 1997. He became a senior producer in 2000, eventually becoming the senior producer for "Wolf Blitzer Reports," a precursor to "The Situation Room." While a producer, Todd began offering on-air reports in January 2004 and became an on-air correspondent full time in 2006.<br> <br> Prior to CNN, Todd had served as a reporter for Guam Cable TV in the Pacific Marianas Islands; a sports producer for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh and a sports producer for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.<br> <br> Todd earned a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Miami. <br> <br> -- cnn.com
