Previous Experience
From a very young age Megan was interested in journalism and was hooked after an internship at the CBS affiliate in Sacramento, CA. She landed her first job as a bureau reporter at KHSL-TV in Redding, CA. She worked just about every shift from reporter to producer to morning anchor and spent 3 years as the evening anchor. In January of 2004, Megan joined WTVQ-TV in Lexington, KY where she anchored the evening news before coming to Minnesota in May 2009.

Education
Megan graduated with a B.A. in Communication Studies and minor in Journalism from California State University Sacramento.

Career Highlights
In 2007 WTVQ received a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Spot News Coverage of the crash of Comair Flight 5191. Forty-nine people died in the crash and Megan spent 13 straight hours reporting the breaking news. In 2005 "Action News 36 @ 5" received an Emmy nomination for Best Newscast. Her career highlights include reporting on some of Northern California's most devastating wildland fires; working for two years with a local Sheriff's Office in Kentucky getting noncompliant sex offenders off the streets; and flying to the top of Mt. Shasta with the Army National Guard as crews recovered a downed Blackhawk Helicopter.

Personal Interests
For the last four years, Megan has volunteered weekly at Shriner’s Hospital for Children. She's also emceed the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon as well as other events to help support area charities.

In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors - running, walking the dogs, gardening, and canoeing. Plus she took up golf just last year and is working on her game. Cooking and traveling round off her list. Megan and her husband share their home with 2 labs, a chocolate and yellow.
