Joel Payne joined Qorvis Communications in February 2012 as a Senior Director. Previously, Joel served as Deputy National Press Secretary for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, performing duties as the primary staff writer for the Senate Democratic Caucus during the 111th Congress. Joel’s tenure with the Majority Leader’s office spanned through the health care reform debate, the Wall Street reform debate and the confirmation of two Supreme Court justices.

Joel has also served as Communications Director for Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California and worked as a policy aide for Senators Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey and Debbie Stabenow of Michigan.

In addition, Joel was a member of the John Edwards for President 2008 campaign as a research and communications aide, with on-the-ground experience in the key battleground states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Joel Payne, a New Jersey native, is a graduate of Brown University with a B.S. degree in Political Science and American History.
