Dean Young (Republican Party) ran for election for Governor of Alabama. He lost in the Republican primary on May 24, 2022.
Young was also a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Alabama. He was defeated by incumbent Bradley Byrne in the March 2016 primary.
Young was raised in rural Mississippi. After dropping out of high school at age 16, he graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi at age 20. His career experience includes working as a businessman in real estate and marketing. He previously served as an Orange Beach Planning and Zoning Commissioner.
